A cold frontal system will push through the northern part of Florida later today and tonight and it’ll lead to an unsettled period around here during the latter part of the week. This front will stall out in the nearby vicinity and our chances for showers and thunderstorms will increase by Thursday and Friday. Drier air will head this way over the weekend and Sunday and Monday look quite nice from this vantage point.

It stays rather warm today with highs likely in the lower 80’s and there can be scattered shower activity at least into the mid-day hours. In fact, temperatures may threaten some records in parts of central Florida if they can make it to the middle 80’s. The next cold front will move into Florida early tonight and this could lead to more in the way of shower activity. Later in the week, this same front will stall out nearby leading to an increasing chance of shower activity across central Florida.

A warming trend will start the new work week with a light southerly flow developing in the area. Highs today and Tuesday will be near the 80 degree mark and there will be plenty of sunshine each day. Moisture will begin to increase in the area later tomorrow and our chance of showers will begin to rise. Temperatures will climb this weekend, but so will the chances for showers in central Florida. Dry conditions will continue across central Florida over the next few days as northwest flow dominates. High pressure from the Deep South will expand the area and generate plenty of sunshine for the remainder of the week. Temperatures will remain cool for the next few days, but then rebound some this weekend.

Two powerful weather systems continue to impact much of the nation with heavy snow today across the central Plains and Upper Midwest from the first storm and heavy rain, strong winds and inland snows in the western US as a result of the second storm. The state with the least impact in coming days from either one of these storms will be Florida. Around here, the nice stretch of weather will continue with warm temperatures and plenty of sunshine each day right into the upcoming weekend.
