Discussion

Another strong upper level trough of low pressure will affect our weather here in Colorado beginning today with lots of clouds, a soaking rain and much cooler weather with highs only in the upper 50's to lower 60’s. Temperatures will continue to stay on the cool side on Thursday as the trough gets fully established with highs no better than the low-to-mid 60’s. A warm up will occur as we approach the weekend, but then a new cooling trend will return early next week.

Discussion

Another strong upper level trough of low pressure will affect our weather here in Colorado later this week. Temperatures will drop noticeably by Thursday afternoon as the trough gets established and highs will do no better than the low 60's. The normal high temperature for Denver on this date is still in the 80’s at 82 degrees so we’ll get way below that by later this week.

Discussion

A trough of low pressure in the upper atmosphere today will head east over the next couple of days from central California and upper level high pressure will build in from off of the west coast. Skies will be mostly clear this week except for the late night and early morning low clouds that will give way to afternoon clearing. All in all, it looks like a pretty warm week; especially, towards Friday and Saturday when highs will reach 80 degrees close to the coast with even hotter conditions expected inland.

7:00 AM | Should get real cool later this week; it may struggle to reach 60 degrees by Thursday afternoon

Tonight

Mostly cloudy, cool, lows by morning near 60 degrees

Tuesday

Partly sunny, not as warm, chance for showers and thunderstorms, highs in the mid 80’s

Tuesday Night

Mostly cloudy, chance for showers and thunderstorms, cool, mid 50’s

Thursday

Partly sunny, even cooler, chance for showers and thunderstorms, low 60’s

Friday

Partly sunny, cool, near 70

Saturday

Discussion

Another strong upper level trough of low pressure will affect our weather here in Colorado this week. Moisture will increase in advance of the trough on Tuesday and this will increase our chances for showers and thunderstorms, and that threat for rain will continue through mid-week. Temperatures will likely drop noticeably later this week as the trough gets established and could hold in the 60’s by Thursday. The normal high temperature for Denver on this date is still in the 80’s at 82 degrees so we’ll get way below by later this week.

2:00 PM | Powerful storms in south-central PA could reach the western suburbs of Philly after 3PM

Paul Dorian

Discussion

A large area of heavy showers and strong-to-severe thunderstorms is currently plowing to the east from central New York State to eastern West Virginia. Within this large area of rain, there is an especially impressive looking line of storms from Harrisburg, PA to north-central Maryland and this line is racing to the east. Damaging winds of 60+mph can occur from this particular line of storms and isolated tornadoes are also a general threat for the entire I-95 corridor late this afternoon and evening. This line of storms that is currently across south-central PA will approach the western suburbs of the Philly metro region after 3PM and the threat for severe weather will continue right into the late evening hours.

7:00 AM | Quite warm to end the week and for the weekend

Paul Dorian

6-Day Forecast

Today

Mostly sunny skies, quite breezy and warm, highs in the upper 70’s, even warmer inland

Tonight

Partly cloudy, breezy, mild, lows in the upper 60’s

Saturday

Mostly sunny, warm, breezy, highs in the upper 70’s, even warmer inland

Saturday Night

Mostly clear, mild, mid-to-upper 60’s

Sunday

Mostly sunny skies, warm, mid-to-upper 70’s, even warmer inland

Monday

Mostly sunny skies after possible early morning low clouds and fog, warm, mid 70’s, even warmer inland

Tuesday

Mostly sunny skies after possible early morning low clouds and fog, warm, mid 70’s, even warmer inland

Wednesday

Mostly sunny skies after possible early morning low clouds and fog, warm, mid-to-upper 70’s, even warmer inland

Discussion

Strong upper level high pressure will expand westward into the region going into the weekend and that should cause an edge upward in temperatures to close out the week. Warm conditions are expected this weekend, especially inland, as a gusty breeze continues.

7:00 AM | Big cool down to close out the week

Paul Dorian

6-Day Forecast

Today

Mostly cloudy, noticeably cooler, chance for a shower or two, highs near 70 degrees

Tonight

Partly cloudy, chilly late, lows by morning near 50 degrees

Saturday

Mainly sunny, cool, highs in the mid-to-upper 70’s

Saturday Night

Partly cloudy, quite cool, low 50’s

Sunday

Mostly sunny, warmer, low-to-mid 80’s

Monday

Mainly sunny, warm, maybe a shower or thunderstorm, upper 80’s

Tuesday

Partly sunny, maybe a shower or thunderstorm, low 80’s

Wednesday

Partly sunny, not as warm, maybe a shower or thunderstorm, mid-to-upper 70’s

Discussion

Temperatures today will struggle to reach 70 degrees as a much cooler air mass has plowed into the region following an overnight strong cold frontal passage. Temperatures tomorrow will likely hold in the mid 70’s for highs, but will rebound on Sunday to the 80’s. By early next week, monsoonal moisture will try to make a return from the south and west and this will increase our chances early next week for a shower or thunderstorm.

Remnant moisture from Tropical Depression John will pull away from the region today and high pressure will build back in with temperatures returning to slightly above normal levels for the next few days.

7:00 AM | A strong cool front comes through by tomorrow; temperatures could struggle to reach 70 degrees on Friday

Paul Dorian

6-Day Forecast

Today

Sun followed by clouds, very warm, highs in the upper 80’s

Tonight

Mostly cloudy, windy, maybe a shower or two, turning much cooler late, lows in the low 50’s

Friday

More clouds than sun, breezy, noticeably cooler, maybe a shower or thunderstorm, highs near 70

Friday Night

Partly cloudy, quite cool, lows near 50

Saturday

Mostly sunny, still pleasantly cool, mid 70’s

Sunday

Mainly sunny, warmer, low-to-mid 80’s

Monday

Mainly sunny, warmer, maybe a shower or thunderstorm, upper 80’s

Tuesday

Partly sunny, warm, maybe a shower or thunderstorm, mid-to-upper 80’s

Discussion

Today will be another warm day, but a strong upper-level trough will swing through the region overnight and this will usher in noticeably cooler air for Friday and Saturday. Temperatures on Friday could hold to near 70 degrees for highs behind the frontal system and then do no better than the mid 70’s on Saturday. By Sunday, there will be a rebound in temperatures as highs will get back well up into the 80’s. Monsoonal moisture may make a return from the south and west early next week and this will increase our chances for scattered afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms.
