Northwesterly flow in the upper atmosphere will keep us dry today although it’ll remain quite cold to close out the work week. A bit of a moderation in temperatures is expected this weekend as the upper level flow becomes more southwesterly. Elsewhere, another dramatic stratospheric warming event is about to occur near the North Pole in the next 10 days or so and it is detailed in today's video. This type of atmospheric event can sometimes be a precursor to additional cold air outbreaks into the US in coming weeks.

7:00 AM | Dry, but quite windy and cool

Paul Dorian

6-Day Forecast

Today

Mainly sunny, windy, cool, highs near 60 degrees

The rain has pulled out of the area, but gusty winds will stick around for a bit longer. High pressure will produce some sunshine here each day into the weekend, but then another low pressure system will bring more unsettled weather here late this weekend into early next week.
