Paul Dorian

6-Day Forecast

Today

Patchy fog, drizzle and low clouds early; otherwise, remaining mostly cloudy, cool, highs near 60 degrees

Tonight

Mostly cloudy, some fog possible late, breezy, cool, lows in the mid 50’s

Friday

Patchy fog and low clouds early then becoming mostly sunny, breezy, cool, low 60's

Friday Night

Mostly cloudy, cool, fog possible late, lows in the mid 50’s

Saturday

Sunday

Early morning fog then becoming partly sunny, breezy, cool, low 60's

Monday

Early morning fog then partly sunny, cool, low 60’s

Tuesday

Partly sunny, milder, mid 60’s

Discussion

Today will be another day featuring some early morning coastal low clouds and fog that will gradually give way to some afternoon clearing. It’ll remain on the cool side with highs struggling to pass the 60 degree mark along coastal sections and the period from tomorrow through the weekend should remain on the cool and breezy side with temperatures slightly below normal for this time of year as strong NW flow continues in the upper atmosphere.

7:00 AM | Much milder for the next two days - and just in time for tomorrow's Rockies home opener

Paul Dorian

6-Day Forecast

Today

Mostly sunny, noticeably milder, highs in the mid-to-upper 60’s

Tonight

Partly cloudy, cool, lows in the low 40’s

Friday

Mainly sunny, very mild, near 70

Friday Night

Mostly clear, cool, low 40’s

Saturday

Partly sunny, not as mild, maybe a couple of showers, low 60's

Sunday

Partly sunny, seasonal temperatures, near 60

Monday

Mostly cloudy, cooler, chance for some rain showers, mid 50’s

Tuesday

Mostly cloudy, colder, chance for some rain or snow showers, mid 40’s

Discussion

An upper level ridge of high pressure will bring some noticeable warming to the region for today and Friday – and this is just in time for the Rockies Friday PM home opener. In fact, 70 degrees are a tad higher is possible tomorrow as we close out the work week. The weekend will feature more seasonal temperatures as a weak trough moves through the region and it could touch off a couple of showers on Saturday. This will limit high temperatures to around 60 degrees on both weekend days which is about normal for this time of year. Even colder air returns to the southern Rockies early next week.

7:00 AM | Rockies home opener is set for Friday afternoon and temperatures could pass 70 degrees for highs

Paul Dorian

6-Day Forecast

Today

Morning low clouds and fog followed by mostly sunny skies, noticeably milder, highs in the upper 50’s

Tonight

Partly cloudy, cold, lows in the upper 30’s

Thursday

Mainly sunny, very mild, mid 60’s

Thursday Night

Mostly clear, cool, low 40’s

Friday

Mostly sunny, very mild, near 70

Saturday

Mostly sunny, cooler, upper 50’s

Sunday

Partly sunny, mild, low 60’s

Monday

Mostly sunny, cool, mid 50’s

Discussion

A big warmup is in store for the southern Rockies today as high pressure builds into the region. This will promote a dry, westerly flow of air around here and temperatures will respond by climbing into the 60’s by Thursday afternoon and perhaps into the low 70’s on Friday. While it’ll turn somewhat cooler this weekend, temperatures will still be rather close to normal as the average high for Denver is now about 59 degrees and highs this weekend will be quite close to the 60 degree mark.

7:00 AM | Gradual clearing today after some morning clouds and fog; weekend looking cool and breezy

Paul Dorian

6-Day Forecast

Today

Patchy fog and low clouds early gradually giving way to clearing skies by afternoon, cool, highs in the low-to-mid 60’s

Tonight

Mostly cloudy, some fog possible late, breezy, cool, lows in the mid 50’s

Thursday

Patchy fog and low clouds early then becoming partly sunny, cooler, upper 50’s

Thursday Night

Mostly cloudy, cool, fog possible late, lows in the mid 50’s

Friday

Mostly sunny, cool, near 60

Saturday

Early morning fog then becoming partly sunny, breezy, cool, near 60

Sunday

Early morning fog then remaining mostly cloudy, breezy, cool, low 60’s

Monday

Partly sunny, cool, low 60’s

Discussion

Skies should give way to some clearing today after early morning low clouds and fog break up. Temperatures should reach the lower-to-middle 60’s, but will turn somewhat cooler on Thursday as an upper level trough of low pressure affects the region. The period from Friday through the weekend should be on the cool and breezy side with temperatures slightly below normal for this time of year as strong NW flow develops aloft.

7:00 AM | Big warmup for the southern Rockies for the second half of the week; could reach 70 for the Rockies Friday home opener

Paul Dorian

6-Day Forecast

Today

Mostly cloudy, chilly, chance for some rain or snow showers, highs in the upper 40’s

Tonight

Snow or rain possible before midnight, cold, lows in the lower 30’s

Wednesday

Mainly sunny, much milder, near 60

Wednesday Night

Mostly cloudy, cool, mid 30’s

Thursday

Partly sunny, very mild, mid-to-upper 60’s

Friday

Mostly sunny, even milder, near 70

Saturday

Partly sunny, mild, low 60’s

Sunday

Partly sunny, mild, low 60’s

Discussion

An upper level low pressure system will continue to produce some snow and/or rain in the southern Rockies region through tonight, and it’ll keep it relatively cool for another day or so. However, high pressure will then edge into the region and a significant warming trend will take place during the mid and late week time periods. The home opener for the Rockies comes Friday afternoon and, from this vantage point, it looks like the weather will cooperate with sunshine and mild conditions with highs near 70 degrees.

7:00 AM | Dry weather continues this week just as it did during the month of March

Paul Dorian

6-Day Forecast

Today

Gradually becoming partly sunny after early morning low clouds and fog, cool, breezy, highs in the low 60’s

Tonight

Mostly cloudy, some fog possible late, breezy, cool, lows in the mid 50’s

Wednesday

Gradually becoming partly sunny after early morning low clouds and fog, cool, highs in the low-to-mid 60’s

Wednesday Night

Mostly cloudy, cool, fog possible late, lows in the mid 50’s

Thursday

Early morning fog then becoming partly sunny, cool, near 60

Friday

Early morning fog then becoming mostly sunny, cool, near 60

Saturday

Early morning fog then remaining mostly cloudy, cool, low 60’s

Sunday

Early morning fog then becoming partly sunny, cool, low 60’s

Discussion

High pressure will bring mainly dry conditions to the region for much of the week, but temperatures will stay on the cool side and late night and early morning low clouds and fog will continue to be prevalent along coastal regions. The normal high temperature at LAX Airport is now 65 degrees and the month of March ended up as slightly warmer-than-normal (+1.2 degrees) as well as quite dry (-1.19 inches below normal).

7:00 AM | Chilly with rain or snow showers to start the new week, but a big warmup coming for the second half

Paul Dorian

6-Day Forecast

Today

Mostly cloudy, cool, chance for some rain showers, highs in the low-to-mid 50's

Tonight

Mostly cloudy, windy, cold, rain or snow showers likely, lows in the lower 30’s

Tuesday

Mainly cloudy, a bit of snow and/or rain, chilly, near 50

Tuesday Night

Mostly cloudy, cold, low 30’s

Wednesday

Partly sunny, milder, near 60

Thursday

Mostly sunny, milder, low-to-mid 60’s

Friday

Partly sunny, mild, mid-to-upper 60’s

Saturday

Partly sunny, mild, mid 60’s

Discussion

An upper level low pressure system will bring some rain and snow showers to the southern Rockies region over the next 36 hours or so. This system will keep it relatively cool around here into Tuesday, but then high pressure will edge into the region and a warming trend will take place during the mid and late week time periods. The home opener for the Rockies comes Friday afternoon and, from this vantage point, it looks like the weather will cooperate with sunshine and mild conditions.

7:00 AM | Dry, cool for Opening Day; lots of late night and early morning low clouds and fog this week

Paul Dorian

6-Day Forecast

Today

Mostly sunny, breezy, cool, highs in the low 60’s

Tonight

Mostly cloudy, some fog possible late, breezy, cool, lows in the low 50’s

Tuesday

Becoming partly sunny after early morning fog, cool, highs in the low-to-mid 60’s

Tuesday Night

Mostly cloudy, cool, fog possible late, lows in the mid 50’s

Wednesday

Thursday

Early morning fog then becoming partly sunny, cooler, mid 60’s

Friday

Early morning fog then becoming mostly sunny, cool, low 60’s

Saturday

Early morning fog then becoming partly sunny, cool, low 60’s

Discussion

Opening Day 2013 looks like it’ll feature decent weather conditions for the Giants and Dodgers late afternoon game with lots of sun and cool temperatures. High pressure will bring mainly dry conditions to the region for much of the week with a slight warming trend for the second half of the week, but late night and early morning low clouds and fog will dominate along coastal regions.

7:00 AM | Stays mild right through the weekend

Paul Dorian

6-Day Forecast

Today

Partly sunny, mild, chance for a few showers and a thunderstorm, highs in the low-to-mid 60’s

Tonight

Mostly cloudy, cool, chance for a few showers and a thunderstorm, lows in the upper 30’s

Saturday

Partly sunny, mild, chance for a few more showers, near 60

Saturday Night

Partly cloudy, cold, mid 30’s

Sunday

Partly sunny, mild, low 60’s

Monday

Mostly cloudy, colder, chance for snow showers, low 40’s

Tuesday

Partly sunny, chilly, upper 40’s

Wednesday

Partly sunny, milder, mid-to-upper 50’s

Discussion

A mild flow of air today will have quite a bit of embedded moisture and this will give us the chance for some shower and thunderstorm activity in the area for the next 24 hours or so. By later in the weekend, the flow will become westerly and it should remain dry on Sunday. A strong cold front will affect the region early next week with the return of chilly air and an increased chance for snow showers. That next chilly air mass will, however, be rather short-lived as temperatures should climb noticeably by the middle of the week.

7:00 AM | Moist flow keeps late night/early morning low clouds and fog around

Paul Dorian

6-Day Forecast

Today

Early morning low clouds and fog then becoming partly sunny, breezy, cool, highs in the mid 60’s

Tonight

Mostly cloudy, some fog and possible drizzle late, breezy, cool, lows in the mid 50’s

Saturday

Becoming partly sunny after early morning fog, cool, highs in the low 60’s

Saturday Night

Mostly cloudy, cool, lows in the mid 50’s

Sunday

Mostly cloudy, cool, chance for showers, near 60

Monday

Mostly cloudy, cool, chance for showers, near 60

Tuesday

Mostly sunny, milder, mid 60’s

Wednesday

Mostly sunny, mild, upper 60’s

Discussion

Moist southwesterly flow in the upper atmosphere will continue for the next few days as a slow-moving and large upper level low approaches the California coast. This moist flow will keep late night and early morning low clouds and fog around the coastal regions and afternoon could still be affected with lots of high clouds. Showers associated with this upper low are possible Sunday and Monday, but nothing heavy is expected in southern California. High pressure builds back into the region for Tuesday and Wednesday and temperatures will trend milder.
