A big change is underway in the overall weather pattern for the western part of the country as a deep upper level trough of low pressure is building into the region. The upper level trough will move into the Great Basin region by tomorrow and our temperatures will drop considerably by the weekend. Snow is likely to accompany this next cold shot from Saturday night into Sunday with some accumulations possible on the order of 1-3 inches and there is a good chance that Saturday night will turn out to be the coldest night so far this season with temperatures bottoming out in the upper teens. Temperatures will slowly moderate during the early part of next week.
