The warm pattern that began a couple of days ago will continue to start the new week and record-breaking heat for the day is not out of the question; however, major changes are coming by mid-week. An upper level trough of low pressure will move across the region by mid-week and this will drag much colder air back into the southern Rockies by Wednesday morning. Initially, there is the threat for some rain shower activity associated with this transition from very warm to very cold and by Wednesday it should be cold enough for accumulating snow - perhaps on the order of 2-4 inches in and around the Denver metro region.
