Discussion

Tropical Storm Emily has formed just off the Tamp coastline and it will spread heavy rainfall into east-central Florida as it slowly treks to the east and right towards the local area. Latest observations include max sustained winds at 45 mph and eastward movement at about 8 mph. It should start to speed up a bit in the overnight hours and on Tuesday and turn more to the northeast as it becomes influenced by an upper-level trough along the Mid-Atlantic coastline. The threat for showers and storms will continue through the rest of the week -even after the departure on Tuesday of TS Emily - and several inches of rainfall can accumlate around here by week's end.
