Discussion
The tropics are currently quite active with one system likely to have a major impact on Texas and Louisiana in coming days with the potential for tremendous flooding rainfall and another system sitting right near the coast of Florida. This nearby tropical system is likely to feature little in the way of intensification over the next day or so, but conditions will become more favorable for strengthening this weekend. If this system reaches tropical storm status – quite a good bet – it’ll become officially named “Irma”. There is the potential for several inches of rain around here over the next few days as a result of this tropical system.
