Discussion
A soaking rain event is headed to much of the Florida Peninsula later this weekend and into the early part of next week. In fact, the overall weather pattern is looking quite wet for Florida and much of the Southeast US for potentially the next couple of weeks or so. An inverted trough of low pressure currently stalled over the Bahamas will work its way westward this weekend to over the Florida Peninsula. As a result, moisture will increase this weekend at all levels of the atmosphere and the result should be showers and thunderstorms on Sunday and Monday with some of the rain falling heavily at times.
