Discussion
Low pressure over the eastern Gulf of Mexico will intensify today and spread deep layers of tropical moisture our way. As a result, with daytime heating setting in, numerous heavy showers and strong thunderstorms are likely today, tonight and tomorrow in much of Florida. Excessive rainfall amounts of 3-5 inches are possible from this system by late Tuesday. Any storm that forms over the next couple of days could reach severe levels and brief tornadoes are possible.
