Discussion
The “official” start to the Atlantic Basin tropical season is June 1st, but it could get off to an early start. There are signs that the tropics will come to life by this upcoming weekend with a possible system near Florida or over the eastern Gulf of Mexico. The new work week will start off with some tropical moisture remaining in the area and this will keep us somewhat unsettled with a continuing shot at showers and thunderstorms. An Atlantic Ocean ridge of high pressure will set up early this week and build westwards towards the Florida Peninsula and then we'll be monitoring the tropics later in the week.
