Discussion

High pressure ridging over the western Atlantic will continue to be the dominant player around here resulting in very warm and humid weather conditions throughout Florida. In addition, showers and thunderstorms will continue to be a threat today, tonight and Friday and the chances for rain may actually increase during the upcoming weekend as a trough forms over the Mid-Atlantic region. This trough will act to suppress the ridge of high pressure over the southern half of the Florida Peninsula resulting in higher storm coverage in the east-central part of the state. Any storm that forms in the pattern can be on the strong side with locally heavy rainfall possible.
