Discussion

*The threat exists for severe weather tonight as a strong cold front approaches the region*. The strong cold front will push across the Deep South today and it’ll combine with a vigorous upper-level wave of energy to raise the chances for severe weather tonight. This evolving setup could result in damaging wind gusts and even isolated tornadoes as mid-to-upper level winds will be quite strong. As far as temperatures are concerned, they will actually approach record levels this afternoon with highs near the 85 degree mark.
