The next few days will generally be dry, breezy and cool in the metro area, but nearby mountains can feature daily snow shower activity. Later in the week, precipitation is likely to become more widespread and a colder air mass will filter into the area.

7:00 AM | *Much more settled weather today and another warm up is on the way*

The weather calms down some today with mainly sunny skies and less wind than yesterday and temperatures should climb towards the 50 degree mark. Another significant warm-up will commence on Thursday with temperatures likely reaching 60 degrees and it’ll remain quite mild into the first half of the weekend. A colder air mass is likely to arrive for Sunday and Monday and there can be snow shower activity as well.

The strong winds remain today, but temperatures will be sharply lower on the heels of a strong cold frontal passage and there will be occasional snow showers and maybe a heavier snow squall. Temperatures climbed to well up in the 60’s on Monday afternoon but will plunge today reaching the middle 20’s by early in the afternoon. After a chilly day on Wednesday, another warm-up will commence on Thursday and temperatures are likely to reach the 60’s by the end of the work week.

The week will start off quite mild and very windy with gusts possible today to 40 mph. Big changes are on the way, however, with an influx of much colder air on Tuesday bringing high temperatures down some 25 degrees from the upper 60’s this afternoon to the lower 40’s on Tuesday morning (and temperatures drop into the 20’s tomorrow afternoon). The chill down will come with the chance of some light accumulating snow and the windy conditions will continue into mid-week.

It stays quite mild for another day in the metro region and there will be breezy conditions. It does turn colder for tonight and Thursday and there will be the chance of rain and/or snow showers. High pressure returns at the end of the week and should stick around this weekend and temperatures will respond by climbing back to the 60’s for afternoon highs.
