It’ll turn slightly cooler today and there will be a decent chance for afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms in the area. In fact, there is an outside chance that some of the thunderstorms reach severe levels with damaging wind gusts a risk. A general drying trend is likely from Tuesday through much of the remainder of the week with slightly above normal temperatures.

A big time cool down began yesterday and it remains on the cool side today and there is the chance for afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms. A warming trend begins this weekend and high temperatures are likely to get back to near the 90 degree mark by the middle of next week. The threat of showers and thunderstorms will continue this weekend and into the early part of next wee as there will be plenty of moisture in the area.

A big time cool down today with temperatures noticeably cooler than Wednesday and confined to the 60’s for afternoon highs. It remains on the cool side to end the work week on Friday and there will be plenty of moisture around for the next couple of days to give us a chance of showers and thunderstorms. A warm-up begins on Saturday and continues into early next week and this will result in high temperatures by Tuesday afternoon quite close to the 90 degree mark once again.

7:00 AM | *Much cooler weather on Thursday after yet another hot day*

One more hot day in the region with afternoon high temperatures likely in the middle 90’s, but big changes are on the way in the temperature department. A cold front passes through the region by tomorrow and temperatures on Thursday afternoon are likely to peak in the middle 70’s...nearly 20 degrees lower than later today. It remains on the cool side to end the work week and there will be plenty of moisture around to give us a chance of showers and thunderstorms during each of the next few days.

After a hot weekend, it’ll remain hot for the next few days with high temperatures each day likely in the 90’s. Abundant moisture has flowed into the region in the overnight hours and this should allow for the development of scattered afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms. A cool front will cross through the area at mid-week and temperatures will likely do no better than 70’s for afternoon highs on Thursday and Friday.

The main weather story continues to be the high heat across the region and wildfire smoke and haze are continuing factors as well. Temperatures will peak later today in the mid-to-upper 90’s and similar highs are likely right through the weekend and into the early part of next week. Rain chances today will increase some during the late afternoon and early evening hours and reduce on Saturday only to rise again on Sunday and Monday when locally heavy rain will be back on the table.
