7:00 AM | **Hottest stretch of weather so far this summer**

Paul Dorian

Upper-level high pressure across the Great Plains will dominate the weather picture in the Tennessee Valley and hot weather will be the result. Temperatures should climb into the mid 90’s this afternoon and likely reach those same levels right into the upcoming weekend. Some relief is likely around here by the second half of the weekend following the passage of a frontal system and temperatures on Sunday and Monday are more likely to be confined to the middle 80’s for afternoon highs.

7:00 AM | *Hot week continues across the Tennessee Valley*

Paul Dorian

Upper-level high pressure ridging will intensify over the Rocky Mountains over the next couple of days and then slowly shift to the southeast. Drier air will push into the Tennessee Valley and this will allow temperatures to soar with less clouds and lower chances of rain. High temperatures this afternoon will likely be in the lower 90’s and middle 90’s are likely on Wednesday and Thursday.

7:00 AM | *Highs in the 90-95 degree range for much of the week*

Paul Dorian

Much of the nation will experience warmer-than-normal conditions this week as upper-level high pressure ridging intensifies over the central part of the nation. Our high temperatures are likely to be in the 90-95 degree range for the next few days and there will be a continuing chance of showers and thunderstorms. Elsewhere, monsoonal moisture will continue to push into the “Four Corners” region of the Southwest US resulting in additional heavy rainfall for that part of the nation.

7:00 AM | *Overall pattern looking pretty hot next 7 days or so*

Paul Dorian

After a rain-free day on Thursday, the chance of showers and thunderstorms will rise somewhat today, but still would only expect scattered-to-isolated activity across northern Alabama. High temperatures over the next several days are likely to reach or slightly surpass the 90 degree mark around here as an upper-level ridge takes control over much of the country.

7:00 AM | *Frontal system that has meandered around the region this week finally makes a move to the south of here*

Paul Dorian

The frontal system that has hung around this area during the past couple of days will make a push to the south of here today likely resulting in even warmer conditions as we head towards the weekend. Highs over the next couple of days are likely to be near the 90 degree mark, but should shoot into the early-to-mid 90’s by the time we get to the early part of next week.

7:00 AM | *Frontal system edges to our south by tomorrow likely resulting in higher temperatures and less chance of rain*

Paul Dorian

A frontal system will continue to have an impact on northern Alabama today despite the fact that it is weakening. There will be enough moisture and instability around to continue the chance of PM showers and thunderstorms and it’ll turn warmer this afternoon with highs well up in the 80’s. The same frontal system will make a push to the south of here on Thursday likely resulting in even warmer conditions and lowering the chance for rain.

7:00 AM | *Wet pattern continues for the southeastern states*

Paul Dorian

A frontal system will continue to have an impact on northern Alabama with plenty of clouds, below-normal temperatures, and the threat for more rain. The overall weather pattern has been quite wet in the southern states during the past few days and will continue to be so for the next couple. Temperatures will edge up as we progress through the week with highs not far from the 90 degree mark.

7:00 AM | *Temperatures in the 80's for much of the week*

Paul Dorian

A stalled-out frontal system remains near the east coast as we begin a new work week and this will keep it somewhat unsettled around here with a continuing chance of showers and thunderstorms. Another frontal system is likely to arrive later in the week and it could usher in a more pleasant air mass for the upcoming weekend. Temperatures over the next few days will generally be confined to the mid or upper 80’s for afternoon highs, a little bit below-normal for this time of year.

7:00 AM | *Stalled-out front likely to result in numerous showers and storms next few days*

Paul Dorian

The unsettled, very warm and humid weather pattern of the past few days will continue right into early next week. A slow-moving frontal system to our northwest will inch its way in the eastern US this weekend and, as low pressure forms along the nearly stationary boundary zone, the chance of showers and thunderstorms around here will be on the rise. Some of the rain this weekend can be heavy at times and this threat will continue right into the new work week.

7:00 AM | *Showers and storms are likely this weekend across the Tennessee Valley*

Paul Dorian

High pressure off the east coast that has been in control of the overall weather pattern in the eastern US will begin to break down as we head to the end of the work week. In addition, a slow-moving frontal system to our northwest will approach the area and the chance of showers and thunderstorms will continue into the weekend. In fact, as low pressure forms along the stalled-out frontal boundary zone, there is the chance for some heavy rainfall from this weekend into the early part of next week.
