A strong frontal system passed through the region on Tuesday and the rest of the week is shaping up to be quite mild with plenty of sunshine. In fact, temperatures should surge to the 60’s today and Thursday and then to 70 degrees by the end of the work week. This weekend promises to get even warmer with highs on Easter Sunday likely to be not far from the 80 degree mark.

A strong frontal system will continue to produce showers and thunderstorms in the northern part of Alabama and some of the storms can be on the strong side. Skies clear tonight and the second half of the week is shaping up to be quite mild with plenty of sunshine. In fact, temperatures may surge to near 70 degrees by the end of the week and then into the 70’s during the upcoming weekend.

A strong frontal system will approach the area from our west today helping to generate increasingly strong winds that can gust past 40 mph or so. Showers and thunderstorms are likely tonight and on Tuesday and some of the rain can be heavy and some of the storms can be on the strong-to-severe side. The weather will quiet down around here for the mid and late week time periods.

It stays mild today, but more unsettled with a good chance of afternoon and evening showers. The weekend will start off a bit cooler, but end up rather mild and there should be some sunshine on both days. Showers and thunderstorms will likely become rather widespread late Monday into Tuesday across the Mississippi and Tennessee Valleys and we’ll have to monitor the possibility for some severe weather activity.

A very nice day is in store for northern Alabama with plenty of sunshine and temperatures climbing into the lower 70’s. It stays mild on Friday, but become more unsettled with the chance of showers and that shower threat will continue on Friday night. The weekend, however, is shaping up quite nicely with at least some sunshine expected on both days and temperatures to the 60’s on Saturday and near 70 degrees on Sunday.

A cold start to the day, but mainly sunny skies will boost temperatures to afternoon highs in the mid or upper 50’s. It turns even warmer on Wednesday with plenty of sunshine boosting afternoon temperatures to near the 70 degree mark. It stays relatively mild during the second half of the week and the potential exists for quite a nice weekend across the Tennessee Valley. One final note, spring officially gets underway later tonight at 11:06 PM.

A strong cold front passed through the region on Sunday and has ushered in a colder-than-normal air mass that will keep temperatures confined to around 50 degrees for afternoon highs. Mainly clear skies tonight will allow for ample radiational cooling and late night temperatures falling in the upper 20’s which could help contribute to more widespread frost in the region. Milder weather returns for the mid and late week time periods as will the threat for some shower activity.
