6:15 AM | **Strong-to-severe storms possible later today and early tonight and again later Thursday/early Thursday night**

Paul Dorian

Thunderstorms will return later this afternoon and continue through this evening... some of the storms can be strong-to-severe. After slightly lower storm coverage on Wednesday, high chances for showers and thunderstorms return Thursday with the approach of a cold front to our northwest. A hotter and somewhat drier weather pattern will begin Friday and continue through the upcoming weekend and high temperatures are likely to be in the 90’s on both weekend days.

6:15 AM | *Very warm and humid next few days with a daily shot at showers and thunderstorms*

Paul Dorian

Humidity will be noticeably higher today as a more tropical airmass filters into the region with high pressure strengthening over the Gulf of America. This system will remain in that location for a few days and the result here will be very warm and humid weather along with a daily shot at showers and thunderstorms. The best chance for the shower and thunderstorm activity will come during the PM hours and given the high moisture levels, some of the rain can be heavy at times in this stretch of unsettled weather across the Tennessee Valley.

As a result, it should stay rain-free around here into Thursday morning, but then the chance of showers and thunderstorms will increase on Thursday afternoon and evening. More moisture is likely to push into the Tennessee Valley for the end of the week and weekend leading to an enhanced chance of rain and thunderstorms in the Friday-to-Monday time period.

Paul Dorian

A cold frontal passage will result in mainly sunny skies on Tuesday and comfortably warm conditions with afternoon highs in the low-to-mid 80’s. After another warm, rain-free day at mid-week, the weather turns unsettled for the late week and weekend with the approach and arrival of the next cold frontal system to the Tennessee Valley.

6:15 AM | *The 80's rule for the week as high pressure takes control in the SE US*

Paul Dorian

As we start the new work week, an upper-level ridge of high pressure builds across the southeastern states. As a result, low-level winds from a south-to-southwest direction will develop bringing warmer and more humid air into the region. The dry weather pattern will continue as well during the next few days with little to no rainfall expected in the Tennessee Valley.
