Much colder air has plunged into much of the central and eastern US and we’ll stay on the cool side for another couple of days here in Florida. By the end of the work week, milder air will return and temperatures should reach or surpass the 70 degree mark as we head into the weekend. A strong cold front will pass through our region later today as low pressure slides into southeastern Canada. High pressure will build across the area on Wednesday, but it’ll stay quite cool with a stiff wind from the north. In fact, highs for much of the second half of the week should be confined to the 60’s across central Florida.

A large scale trough will form in the eastern US over the next couple of days and it’ll lead to chilly weather around here. Extreme cold will first the north-central US over the next couple of days and then spread to the Mid-Atlantic/Northeast US coastlines by mid-week. A strong cold front will pass through our region later tomorrow as low pressure slides into southeastern Canada. Highs for much of the second half of the week should be confined to the 60’s across central Florida.

It’ll be another cool, windy day across central Florida following on the heels of a strong cold frontal system. This system will come to a halt across southern Florida and then begin to return to the north early next week. As a result, we may be setting up for an extended period of cool and damp weather in early and middle parts of next week.

Temperatures will climb into the 70’s ahead of the front, but struggle on Friday to reach the lower 60’s as much cooler air takes over. In fact, the next couple of nights could feature low temperatures in the upper 40’s across much of central Florida and the cooler-than-normal weather will continue into the weekend.
