7:00 AM | Scattered thunderstorms today could reach strong-to-severe levels; fire danger rises during the second half of the week as highs return to at or above 90 degrees along with generally dry conditions

Paul Dorian

6-Day Forecast

Today

Partly sunny, warm, breezy, scattered showers and thunderstorms and some of the storms can be strong-to-severe with damaging winds, highs in the mid 80's

Tonight

Mostly cloudy, mild, still the chance for a shower or thunderstorm, lows in the upper 50’s

Wednesday

Mostly sunny, hot, low 90's

Wednesday Night

Partly cloudy, mild, upper 50’s

Thursday

Mostly sunny, hot, near 90

Friday

Mostly sunny, very warm, upper 80's

Saturday

Mostly sunny, very warm, slight chance for showers and thunderstorms, upper 80’s

Sunday

Mostly sunny, very warm, slight chance for showers and thunderstorms, upper 80’s

Discussion

Upper level ridging continues today over eastern Colorado, but there will be enough low level moisture around to generate scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms and some of the storms can become strong enough to cause damaging wind gusts. The flow aloft becomes drier and southwesterly by tomorrow and the result will be less of a chance for thunderstorm activity and an elevated fire danger with highs approaching or even slightly surpassing 90 degrees during the second half of the week. Very warm conditions will continue this weekend as well with highs likely to be not far from 90 degrees each day along with a slight chance for showers and thunderstorms.

Paul Dorian

6-Day Forecast

Today

Early morning low clouds and fog then becoming mostly sunny, breezy and milder, highs in the mid 70’s

Tonight

Mostly cloudy, breezy, mild, some fog late, lows in the low 60’s

Tuesday

Patchy fog early then becoming mostly sunny, mild, mid 70’s

Tuesday Night

Mostly cloudy, mild, some fog late, low 60’s

Wednesday

Patchy fog early then becoming mostly sunny, mild, mid 70’s

Thursday

Patchy morning fog then mostly sunny skies, mild, mid 70’s

Friday

Patchy morning fog then mostly sunny skies, warm, mid-to-upper 70’s

Saturday

Patchy morning fog then mostly sunny skies, warm, mid-to-upper 70’s

Discussion

Slightly warmer weather is likely this week as high pressure builds into the region following the weekend close approach of a low pressure system. High temperatures along the coast are likely to be well up into the 70’s for much of the week.

7:00 AM | Isolated shower and thunderstorm threat next couple of days; second half of week looks generally warm and dry

Paul Dorian

6-Day Forecast

Today

Partly sunny, warm, chance for showers and thunderstorms, highs in the low-to-mid 80's

Tonight

Mostly cloudy, mild, still the chance for a shower or thunderstorm, lows in the upper 50’s

Tuesday

Mostly sunny, pleasantly warm, chance for a shower and thunderstorm, low 80’s

Tuesday Night

Partly cloudy, mild, chance for a shower and thunderstorm, upper 50’s

Wednesday

Mostly sunny, hot, near 90

Thursday

Mostly sunny, hot, near 90

Friday

Mostly sunny, hot, near 90

Saturday

Mostly sunny, very warm, chance for showers and thunderstorms, mid-to-upper 80’s

Discussion

A weak cool front moved into the region late in the weekend and there may be an isolated shower or thunderstorm today, tonight and tomorrow with rather warm high temperature levels. In the mid-week time period, southwesterly flow aloft will re-develop and the air will dry out leading to an elevated fire danger as the week progresses with temperatures climbing to near 90 degrees on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

7:00 AM | Another day near 90 degrees, but relief for the weekend; wildfires continue to rage, but cooler weekend conditions and early week threat for showers and thunderstorms could help

Paul Dorian

6-Day Forecast

Today

Mostly sunny, breezy, not quite as hot, slight chance for a shower or thunderstorm, highs near 90 degrees

Tonight

Partly cloudy, mild, lows near 60 degrees

Saturday

Mostly sunny, pleasantly warm, near 80

Saturday Night

Partly cloudy, mild, near 60

Sunday

Partly sunny, warm, chance for showers and thunderstorms, low 80's

Monday

Partly sunny, warm, chance for showers and thunderstorms, low 80’s

Tuesday

Partly sunny, warm, chance for showers and thunderstorms, low 80’s

Wednesday

Mostly sunny, pleasantly warm, upper 70’s

Discussion

A southwest flow in the upper atmosphere will continue today as an upper level trough slides across Montana and Wyoming. Enough moisture will advance northward into the region from southern Colorado to generate isolated showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures today should peak near 90 degrees which won't help out with the wildfire situation, but they will drop this weekend to much more comfortable levels at or slightly above the 80 degree mark. These fires centered near Colorado Springs are quite widespread now and only about 5% contained at last report. Hopefully, they won't end up reaching the extent of the great Colorado wildfires that occurred during the 1890's as showers and thunderstorms should help out with the situation early next week.

Tonight

Mostly cloudy, breezy, mild, some fog late, lows near 60 degrees

Saturday

Patchy fog early then becoming mostly sunny, seasonably cool, near 70

Saturday Night

Tuesday

Patchy morning fog then mostly sunny skies, pleasant, low 70’s

Wednesday

Patchy morning fog then mostly sunny skies, warmer, mid 70’s

Discussion

Temperatures will remain on the seasonably cool side this weekend, but there are signs for a slight warm up early next week. In fact, high temperatures along coastal regions should climb to the middle 70’s by the middle of next week after spending the weekend near or slightly below the 70 degree mark.

7:00 AM | 90's for another couple of days then more seasonal this weekend

Paul Dorian

Today

Mostly sunny, breezy, hot, slight chance for a shower or thunderstorm, highs in the low 90’s

Tonight

Partly cloudy, mild, lows in the lower 60’s

Friday

Monday

Mostly sunny, warm, chance for showers and thunderstorms, mid 80’s

Tuesday

Mostly sunny, very warm, upper 80’s

Discussion

Strong upper level high pressure will keep the southern Rockies quite hot for the next couple of days, but there will be some relief in the heat this weekend. In fact, temperatures on Saturday and Sunday won’t be too far from normal with highs in the low-to-mid 80’s on both days. The overall weather pattern will continue to be rather dry with nothing more than isolated showers and thunderstorms over the next few days.

Discussion

Marine flow continues along coastal locations and this will bring a persistent pattern of late night and early morning low clouds and fog along with seasonably cool conditions. Afternoons will feature some clearing skies and high temperatures will be very close to the normal for this time of year at Los Angeles Airport (LAX) which is 70 degrees.

Discussion

Strong upper level high pressure will keep the southern Rockies quite hot for the rest of the work week, but it'll turn less hot this weekend. It looks to be a rather dry overall weather pattern with nothing more than isolated showers and thunderstorms over the next few days. Temperatures should reach the lower 90’s this afternoon which is well above the normal high for this time of year of 80 degrees.
