7:00 AM | *The new work week starts off with more rain, but improvement is on the way*

Paul Dorian

A weak disturbance will bring more rain to the region this morning, and possibly even a thunderstorm, some of the rain can come down hard at times. Building high pressure will result in some late day clearing skies and it'll turn partly cloudy overnight. The high pressure system will shift to the east of here by later Wednesday and a cold front will cross the area later Thursday into Friday and there can be some strong thunderstorm activity associated with the late week frontal system. Elsewhere, low pressure now situated over the Southeast US is likely to drop southward to the Gulf of Mexico and it could very well intensify into a tropical storm later in the week.

7:00 AM | *Very warm and humid pattern to continue with a daily shot at showers and thunderstorms*

Paul Dorian

High pressure slid off the coast yesterday allowing for warmer and more humid air to push into the Mid-Atlantic region from the Tennessee Valley and it’ll stay quite warm and humid here right through the first half of the upcoming weekend. A weak frontal system has stalled out nearby and it’ll keep us unsettled for the next few days as it meanders around the Mid-Atlantic region. As a result, we’ll have scattered showers and thunderstorms through tomorrow night and then even more widespread showers and thunderstorms are likely on Friday and Saturday. Any shower or thunderstorm that forms over the next few days can produce some heavy downpours and there is a chance for severe weather late Saturday and early Saturday night as a strong cool front arrives. Following the frontal passage, it'll turn less humid and slightly cooler on Sunday and nice weather conditions are likely on Monday and Tuesday.

7:00 AM | *Warmer and more humid air pushes in for the rest of the week and we'll have a daily shot at showers and thunderstorms*

Paul Dorian

High pressure sat on top of the region yesterday providing us with comfortable weather conditions, but it’ll turn warmer and more humid later today as a weak disturbance and associated cool front approach the region. That frontal system will then stall nearby on Wednesday and then it bounces back to the north as a warm front later in the week. As a result, we’ll have somewhat unsettled weather for the reminder of the week and upcoming weekend with a daily shot at showers and thunderstorms primarily focused in the late day and evening hours. Any thunderstorm that forms in the type of weather pattern can be on the strong side with locally heavy rainfall. A stronger cool front could push through the area later in the weekend perhaps leading to less humid and slightly cooler conditions by early next week.

7:00 AM | *Nice start to the holiday week, but close to 90 degrees with more humidity for the remainder of the week*

Paul Dorian

The week will start off comfortably warm in the Mid-Atlantic region with relatively low humidity levels, but as high pressure pushes off the east coast over the next couple of days, the heat and humidity will build into the area. After highs today in the low-to-mid 80's, it looks like we'll come within a couple degrees of 90 for the remainder of the week. With the uptick in moisture after today, there will also be an increasing chance of showers and thunderstorms for the middle and latter parts of the week.

7:00 AM | *The heat is on for the next couple of days with highs in the 90's...possible strong thunderstorm late tomorrow...less humid and a bit cooler Sunday and Monday*

Paul Dorian

The warmest stretch of weather so far this season will continue for the next two days with high temperatures in the 90's, but it'll turn cooler and less humid for Sunday and Monday following a strong cold frontal passage. It'll be cooler today at the Jersey Shore as a sea breeze front is likely to push inland and potentially act as a triggering mechanism for isolated late day and evening thunderstorms. A strong cold front approaches the area late tomorrow and there can be some strong-to-severe thunderstorm activity before cooler and less humid air pushes in for Sunday and Monday. After a nice start to the new work week, the heat and humidity will build up again by the middle of next week.

7:00 AM | *Shower/thunderstorm risk returns late tomorrow and will continue on Saturday*

Paul Dorian

High pressure will continue to control the weather around here today providing us with another day of sunshine and very warm conditions. The humidity will increase today as the temperatures climb to or slightly above the 90 degree mark for afternoon highs. Temperatures will climb to 90 degrees on Friday afternoon as well and there can be some shower and thunderstorms activity late in the day and tomorrow night and the threat for showers and storms will continue on Saturday as a frontal system approaches the region. It’ll turn a bit cooler early next week following the passage of the frontal system.

7:00 AM | *Summer-like weather to continue into the weekend*

Paul Dorian

High pressure will build into the area today and help produce plenty of sunshine to go along with quite warm temperatures and moderate humidity levels. Temperatures will climb to 90 degrees on Thursday and Friday and there will be an increase in humidity as well in this first extended stretch of summer-like weather for our area. There can be some shower and thunderstorm activity late Friday, Friday night and Saturday as a frontal system approaches the region. It’ll turn a bit cooler early next week following the frontal passage.

7:00 AM | *Summer-like weather for the remainder of the week*

Paul Dorian

Showers and thunderstorms associated with a warm frontal passage will pull away this morning from the coastline and some sunshine will return to the area this afternoon to go along with very warm and humid conditions. The second half of the week will feature the first extended stretch of summer weather so far this year in the Mid-Atlantic region with high temperatures near the 90 degree mark tomorrow and then in the 90's on Thursday and Friday. A couple of weak disturbances this weekend could bring a return of showers and thunderstorms to the Mid-Atlantic region and it should turn slightly cooler early next week.

7:00 AM | *The first stretch of summer-like weather coming this week*

Paul Dorian

The first stretch of summer-like weather is coming our way this week and highs during the second half of the week will approach 90 degrees on a daily basis. High pressure will push offshore today and lose control of our weather after providing a very nice weekend in the Mid-Atlantic region. A warm front will lift through the region late tonight and likely produce showers and thunderstorms from late tonight into Tuesday morning and some of the rain can be heavy at times. High pressure will build back into the area at mid-week and it’ll turn summer-like for the second half of the week.

7:00 AM | *Morning showers then becoming windy today with lowering humidity...sets us up for a decent weekend*

Paul Dorian

A strong cold front is passing through the region early today with lingering showers, but it’ll pave the way for a nice break in the action from the recent very wet weather pattern here in the Mid-Atlantic. Winds will increase noticeably this afternoon from a northwesterly direction and the humidity will drop sharply later today. High pressure building over southeastern Canada should be strong enough and close enough to produce decent weather around here through much of the upcoming weekend. More showers will return to the region later Sunday night and there can be shower and thunderstorm activity on Monday and Tuesday with temperatures well up in the 80's.
