Sunday 9AM: Heavy morning showers and thunderstorms

A weak cool front has set off a band of heavy showers and thunderstorms that will roll through the New York City area until the mid-to-late morning hours. Some of this rain will be heavy and can cause localized flooding conditions. This band extends up and down the Jersey coast and will move off the coast by early afternoon. More heavy showers and thunderstorms may redevelop later this afternoon.
