Moderate humidity today; thunderstorm threat returns tomorrow night
Paul Dorian
Temperatures reached 90 degrees yesterday at Philly Int’l Airport with moderate humidity levels and plenty of sunshine. Last year at this time we were in a heat wave with the high on the 4th reaching 96 degrees and that was followed by 101 degrees on July 6th, 2010. No such heat wave this year, but highs will flirt with the 90 degree mark each of the next 3 days. Humidity will be moderate today, but will rise somewhat tomorrow and a thunderstorm threat will return for Wednesday night and Thursday as a front to our south heads north as a warm front. As far as the month of June is concerned, it was warmer and drier than normal with temperatures averaging 3.1 degrees above normal and precipitation amounts on the low side by 0.73 inches. Today- mostly sunny, very warm, moderate humidity, near 90
Tonight- mainly clear, mild, mid 60’s
Wed- mostly sunny, very warm, more humid, highs near 90; chance for a thunderstorm at night
Thurs- partly sunny, very warm and humid, chance for a shower or thunderstorm, near 90
Fri- mostly sunny, not quite as warm, slight chance for a shower or thunderstorm, mid-to-upper 80’s
Sat- mainly sunny, warm, mid 80’s
