Oppressive to start the week, but then Canadian high pressure takes over
Paul Dorian
Oppressive weather will start the week with high heat and humidity, but much more comfortable weather is in store for the 2nd half of the work week. High temperatures have reached 90 degrees or higher this month at Reagan National Airport on all but two days and today and tomorrow will be no exception. The good news is that a strong mid-July Canadian high pressure system will control our weather in the Wednesday to Friday time period after a cool frontal passage later Tuesday. This Canadian high will bring much more comfortable air to the Mid-Atlantic with lower temperatures and humidity levels Wednesday through Friday. Today- mostly sunny, hot and humid, mid 90’s (normal high is now 88)
Tonight- muggy and warm with the chance for a thunderstorm late, lows near 75
Tues- partly sunny, hot and humid with a chance for a thunderstorm, mid 90’s
Wed- mostly sunny, more comfortable, breezy, near 90
Thurs- mostly sunny, pleasant, mid 80’s
Fri- mostly sunny, still pleasant, mid 80’s
