Discussion
The extreme heat has gone away and our humidity will lower tomorrow following the passage of a frontal system late tonight. Triple-digit temperatures last Friday (104) and Saturday (100) broke the daily records at Central Park and the 104 degrees matched the 2nd highest temperature ever recorded there (106 is the all-time high). Temperatures today should hold in the low-to-mid 80’s as a cool front slowly works its way through the region generating quite a few clouds with it. Late afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms are likely to develop with the frontal system and some of the rain can fall quite hard within individual storms. Heat and humidity will build back up again late this week with mid 90’s possible for highs on Friday afternoon.
