Discussion
A stubborn low pressure system that has been stuck over the Midwest for the last several days will continue to “spin” bands of showers and thunderstorms into the Mid-Atlantic region during the next 24-36 hours and some of the rain can fall heavily at times and flooding may become a concern once again. This slow-moving system will finally be kicked out of the picture later this week by a strong cold frontal system that will usher in cool air for the weekend. The Yankees 50th playoff run begins on Friday and temperatures will likely reach the 70’s during the afternoon, but cooler and windy conditions can be expected on Saturday for game two along with a possible light shower or two. Cool weather continues on Sunday and Monday with rain-free conditions and afternoon temperatures mainly in the 60’s.
