Discussion
A slow-moving upper air low will continue to meander around the Mid-Atlantic region until early tomorrow and then strong high pressure will edge eastward and finally push the low out to sea. Once this high pressure system takes over it will control our weather for several days to come with lots of sunshine and pleasant temperatures. This prolonged dry period that begins tomorrow afternoon may last right through the upcoming weekend and it will allow for substantial drying out of the thoroughly saturated grounds around the Mid-Atlantic region. Elsewhere, the tropical Atlantic is still quite active with named storms Ophelia and Philippe, but neither system is expected to ever directly impact the US mainland.
