Discussion

One low pressure system will spread periods of rain our way today and at the same time colder air will be advancing towards us from the Great Lakes. The breeze will pick up tonight as the rain tapers off and it’ll become noticeably colder by morning with lows in the mid 30’s. Chilly high pressure will briefly control the weather on Friday providing us with some sunshine, but then a coastal low will spread a cold rain our way late Friday night into early Saturday and it’ll likely be cold enough for some snowflakes to mix in here in the Philly metro region. In fact, there is even an outside chance for accumulations of heavy, wet snow which could be big trouble for trees given the fact that most leaves still remain. Temperatures behind the storm on Saturday night could drop to near the freezing mark in much of the region.
