Thousands remain without power across Connecticut from last weekend's storm, but continued dry weather will hopefully help to get everyone back on line by later this weekend. A low pressure system will stay to our south today as it moves off the east coast, but it will send clouds our way this morning before clearing takes place later today. Under clear skies tonight, temperatures will drop quickly into the 30’s and Saturday will be quite cool despite plenty of sunshine. It’ll start to turn milder on Sunday, and temperatures will likely reach the 60’s on Monday, and that milder weather will then continue right through mid-week. The weather will likely be perfect for the New York City Marathon on Sunday with temperatures during the run in the low-to-mid 50's. Elsewhere, a powerful storm will affect the west coast and interior west over the next day or so with much cooler conditions, coastal rains and inland mountain snows. Finally, one of the biggest sunspots in many years is rotating on the Sun and will be facing the earth over the next several days and this raises the threat for solar storms to affect the Earth in this time period. We'll monitor the situation over the next several days including the possibility for northern lights to again be visible in unusual lower latitudes similar to what happened a couple of weeks ago. *Turn back the clocks this weekend*
