November has been quite dry so far, but today will bring us our first significant rain event of the month. A mid-week soaker is in store for the region with an inch or more of rainfall possible by the time the rain winds down tomorrow morning. One low pressure system will ride along a frontal boundary zone today and then another wave of low pressure will follow late tonight and early tomorrow. This second low will extend the threat for rain into early tomorrow before drier air moves in Thursday afternoon from the Great Lakes region. Partial sunshine will return tomorrow afternoon, but it’ll be much colder than recent days with temperatures generally confined to the 40’s. The chill continues on Friday, but a warming trend will develop this weekend and temperatures past 60 degrees are quite likely by Sunday afternoon. Elsewhere, cold air is now plowing into the Pacific Northwest and heavy snow will break out there over the next couple of days and ultimately this heavy snow will work its way across the Rockies to the Northern Plains by the early part of the weekend.
