2:00 PM | Impressive bands of rain coming through the region over the next several hours

Paul Dorian

Discussion

Bands of heavy rain will rotate through the Philly metro region from the southwest to the northeast over the next several hours and some of the rain will be accompanied by wind gusts of up to 40 mph. The slow-moving front causing the rain will only slowly wind through this region; therefore, the threat for rain and wind will continue well into the evening hours and a rumble of thunder is possible as well. Rainfall amounts of up to 1.5 inches are possible before the rain winds down later tonight. Once the front clears the region late tonight, colder air will move in and the next several days will feature temperatures much closer to normal for this time of year compared to our recent balmy conditions.
