Discussion
Low pressure will move well to our west later today, but it will still sweep an impressive several-hour rain band through the New York metro region later today into tonight. The very mild weather pattern of the past several days will then give way to a more normal temperature pattern with highs closer to 50 degrees as compared with the balmy 70 degrees reached in many spots on Monday. The rainfall totals from this storm should be in the range of 0.5 to 1.5 inches by the time the storm winds down later tonight, and there can be a couple of lingering showers on Wednesday, but dry weather should prevail from Thursday through Sunday. Finally, the high temperature on Monday reached 70 degrees at Central Park which broke the previous record of 69.
