A moisture-laden storm will pull out of the South today and head right for the Mid-Atlantic coast by later tonight. Rain should develop here during the mid or late afternoon and it will then evolve into a soaking rain by early tonight. The rain will wind down late tonight as this storm heads northeastward along the New England coast providing parts of northern New England with heavy snow. Rainfall amounts in excess of an inch are possible here between this afternoon and early Thursday morning. Tomorrow afternoon will once again feature unseasonably mild conditions and a little sun could break out. After that, an upper level low will then combine with a strong cold frontal system to generate more rain showers here later Thursday night and, as colder air filters into the region, there can be a changeover to snow showers towards Friday morning. The rest of Friday will feature some sun, gusty winds, and temperatures holding relatively steady during the afternoon in the 30’s. The Arctic chill will then stick around here right into early next week followed by a brief warmup on Tuesday.
