Discussion
A very cold start today with temperatures below 15 degrees in many of the normally colder suburban locations. Cold high pressure will move off the coast today and milder air will advance our way overnight and Tuesday. At the onset of the return to milder conditions later tonight, some sleet and/or freezing rain could break out for a while before a late night changeover to plain rain. The timetable for the greatest threat for some icy conditions is from about 10PM to 3AM; primarily in Upper Bucks and Montgomery Counties, and Northern Chester County. By tomorrow, occasional "plain" rain will be the rule as temperatures approach 50 degrees. The warm up will be short-lived, however, as a strong cold front will pass through Tuesday night and cold air will return for the second half of the week. A clipper type system will then give us the chance for light snow Thursday night and then we'll have to watch a southern system which could give us more snow or rain Friday night into Saturday.
