2:00 PM | Weekend snow threat continues here; primarily, for southern half of region (southern Chester, Delaware and Philadelphia Counties)

Paul Dorian

Discussion

A strong storm is currently pounding parts of the Rockies and Plains with heavy snow and it will then head east in a weaker phase over the weekend. The threat for occasional snow continues here from later Saturday evening into Sunday afternoon with the highest likelihood for the snow in southern Chester, Delaware and Philadelphia Counties. While a mix with rain is possible early on, the predominate precipitation type from this system should be in the form of snow and small accumulations are even possible; primarily, in the southern half of the Philly metro region. It appears that this system will mainly affect only those places south of I-80 (i.e. DC-to-Philly will get hit while NYC-to-BOS get very little or nothing at all). Check for updates this weekend at “thesiweather.com”. Another threat (possible coastal storm) looms for late next week or weekend.
