Discussion
Rain develops during the mid-day hours and will continue heavy at times right into tonight and a thunderstorm can mix in. Elsewhere today, heavy snow will fall all the way across the northern tier of the country from the Dakotas to the southern New England coast and there can be severe weather including tornadoes in the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys. Morning drizzle tomorrow will give way to drying later in the day as high pressure builds back into the region, but then a strong front approaches by Saturday, and this front will be quite active with some rain, gusty winds and possible thunderstorm activity later Friday night and Saturday. Colder air moves in for the early part of next week following a secondary cold frontal passage on Sunday.
