Discussion

Possible record-breaking warmth today, but this will be very likely be the last time temperatures reach these lofty levels for quite awhile and the 30's are probable here for lows Monday night and Tuesday night. Today's early morning low clouds and fog will give way once again to sunshine and very warm conditions this afternoon, but the overall weather pattern will change noticeably this weekend. Showers are likely by Saturday afternoon as a cooling trend begins, and more showers are likely on Sunday as well after a storm develops near the Mid-Atlantic coast. It is quite likely that, at some point during the weekend, the rain falls quite heavily - which has not happened around here in several days. Temperatures on Saturday will reach the 60’s, but will then be confined to the 50’s on Sunday thanks to a strengthening ocean flow of air. It’ll turn slightly milder on Monday, but then a strong cold front will pass through by Monday night and that'll usher in some of the coolest, Canadian air that we’ve had in awhile around here in the Mid-Atlantic. In fact, temperatures on Tuesday will be confined to the low-to-mid 50’s along with a stiff cool NW breeze.
