Philadelphia reached a record high of 80 degrees on Friday (3/24) and it will be quite awhile before we see those kinds of temperatures again here in the Mid-Atlantic. An amazing warm period for March that lasted about ten days from the 13th through the 23rd has come to an end and a cold blast coming for tonight and tomorrow will remind us that it is still March. The coldest air in some time will move in later today on strong N-NW winds and temperatures should drop to below freezing in most spots by early tomorrow morning and wind chills will be even lower. Highs on Tuesday will stay below normal and will struggle to reach 50 degrees with continued even lower wind chills. Temperatures do moderate on Wednesday, but then turn cooler again on Thursday. One final note- the planned launch of 5 separate rockets by NASA at Wallops Island, Virginia to study upper-atmospheric winds has been rescheduled until very late tonight (between 2 and 5am) - and the skies are finally looking like they will cooperate.
