Discussion

Another step down in the temperature department today as clouds will hold highs to the low 60’s following the 70’s of yesterday and 80’s on Monday. A weak disturbance will produce showers primarily to our south such as across the DC metro region, but a shower or two can sneak in here later today as well. High pressure will build into the region for Thursday and Friday and they should turn out to be rather pleasant days with highs approaching 70 degrees both days. The weekend will feature a significant storm in the Southeast US that will likely ride up the east coast by Sunday night and Monday giving us our first shot at important rain in several weeks. That storm will usher in much cooler air by early next week and the showers can continue on Monday as it slowly heads through the northeastern part of the country.
