Discussion
Yesterday’s cold front has swept off of the east coast and more comfortable weather is expected for today and tonight. In fact, hot weather will likely not return for at least the next several days. The dry weather will not last too long, however, as a low pressure area will head towards the Great Lakes from the Ohio Valley at the end of the work week and this will cause another cold front to sweep towards the east coast. As a result, showers, and perhaps scattered thunderstorms, will threaten the NYC region later Friday night and early Saturday. Much of the remainder of the weekend will be rather pleasant following the passage of the front early Saturday morning although an upper level disturbance could generate an isolated shower or two during Sunday afternoon. Elsewhere, the remains of Tropical Storm Beryl are now out over the Atlantic Ocean and it is continuing on a path away from the US east coast.
