Discussion
Persistent trough of low pressure in the upper atmosphere off of the New England coast will keep the Mid-Atlantic cool and unsettled for much of the week. While it will be rain-free for much of the time, a few showers or thunderstorms can occur each day through Thursday, but then high pressure will likely take over at the end of the week. Once the high takes over, it’ll turn drier and warmer and we should get quite warm on Saturday and Sunday. Elsewhere for today, it'll get unusually cold out west and snow will fall and accumulate in many of the mountainous areas from the Pacific Northwest to Montana.
