Discussion
A warm front worked its way through the region yesterday and temperatures today will be off to the races to possible record-breaking territory. High pressure has anchored itself off of the North Carolina coast and from that location it will act as a heat pump today and tomorrow and temperatures will soar throughout the Mid-Atlantic region towards the 100 degree mark on both days. The good news is that this extreme heat will only last for two days as a cold front will work its way through the region on Friday possibly sparking a few showers and storms along the way. Another cold front will head our way early next week and as a result of that frontal passage temperatures may actually hold in the 70’s by Tuesday of next week. It is quite possible that these next two days will be the hottest days of the entire summer - which coincidently begins this evening.
