Discussion
Extreme heat and humidity will return to the region today and it will last right into the early part of next week. Temperatures today should head way up into the 90’s, but perhaps the more noticeable change in the weather will be the humidity as yesterday still featured some rather moderate levels, but that changed dramatically this morning with the arrival of a frontal system that set off some quick-moving strong thunderstorm activity. That frontal boundary zone will stay close enough in proximity this weekend to give us the chance for a daily thunderstorm, but the vast majority of the time this weekend will mbe rain-free. This heat wave will grip much of the eastern third of the country this weekend from the Mid-Atlantic region on southward to the Gulf coast. In fact, the DC metro region could very well reach 100 degrees each of the next three days.
