Discussion
Our unsettled weather pattern continues today with the threat for more showers and thunderstorms and some of the storms that form this afternoon can be quite strong. Upper levels winds are still quite weak so any shower or thunderstorm that does form will likely be a slow-mover; consequently, they can be quite effective rain producers. Typical hot and humid weather is likely from Thursday through Saturday, but extreme heat is not expected. A strong front should approach the Mid-Atlantic late Sunday and that will raise the possibility for more strong storms to close out the weekend and it could turn a bit cooler early next week post-frontal system.
