Discussion

High pressure will gradually slide off the coast today and a weak cool front will head our way from the Midwest. That front could generate an isolated shower late tonight, but then new high pressure will build into the region for the weekend and it'll be on the cool side. That high pressure system will then move off the east coast early next week and moisture from the SE US will likely head up the coast increasing our chances for rain later Monday into Tuesday before another strong cold front clears things out by mid-week. The rain event late Monday and Tuesday could very well turn into a significant soaker for the eastern third of the country. The second half of next week will remain on the cool side with temperatures continuing to run below normal.
