Discussion

A weak cool front will approach the region on Wednesday increasing our chances for showers and possibly a thunderstorm and then high pressure will build into the region on Thursday behind the frontal system. That front, however, will stall just to our south and this looks like it will set the stage for an unsettled period of weather later this week and continuing right through the weekend. Showers may return as early as Thursday night as the front heads back to the north and the shower threat could last right through Sunday. Elsewhere, as far as the sun is concerned, large sunspot AR1575 is now facing the Earth directly, but, so far, it has been rather inactive. It will be monitored closely over the next couple of days until it rotates towards the back side of the sun.
