Discussion

A strong cold front has worked its way through the region and the result will be a return to below normal temperatures for much of the week. Showers this morning will likely linger into the early afternoon and then there may be some late afternoon clearing as the breeze picks up. High pressure will control the weather for the rest of the week and temperatures will be confined to below normal levels (normal high is 55). While the rest of this week looks dry and storm-free, next week will likely feature a strong blocking high pressure system to our northeast and a "stuck-in-place" western Atlantic low pressure system that will cause a prolonged period of onshore flow at the coastline.
