Discussion
A strong cold front has worked its way through the region and the result will be a return to below normal temperatures for much of the week. Showers this morning, which could actually mix in with some ice pellets before ending, will give way to some afternoon sunshine, winds will pick up as well this afternoon and temperatures are likely to hold in the 40's. High pressure will control the weather for the rest of the week and temperatures will be confined to below normal levels (normal high is 58). While the rest of this week looks dry and storm-free, next week will likely feature a strong blocking high pressure system to our northeast and a "stuck-in-place" western Atlantic low pressure system that will cause a prolonged period of onshore flow at the coastline.
