Discussion
Our decent weather pattern of recent days has just one more day to go before a strong Arctic cold front ushers in much colder conditions for the weekend. Temperatures today will climb well up into the 50’s, but the front slides through by early Saturday, and it’ll be quite a different story for both weekend days. There can be a shower or two tonight with the frontal passage, and then perhaps a rain or snow shower later tomorrow as the cold air pours into the region on NW winds. More numerous snow showers are likely later tomorrow in the higher elevations to our west and north (e.g. from State College to the Poconos). The Arctic chill will modify slightly on Monday and Tuesday only to be followed by another widespread cold air outbreak that is destined to slam the region from the Central Plains to the Mid-Atlantic by the middle of next week.
