A major change to the overall weather pattern is in store for the Mid-Atlantic region during the second half of the month. So far this month the region has been warmer-than-normal and storms have been rather infrequent, but it appears that a much colder and stormier weather pattern is in store for the Mid-Atlantic. One storm will likely pull up well to our west and north (Great Lakes) late in the weekend causing rain in the area, and then another much more significant storm is likely to end up near the Mid-Atlantic coastline by the middle of next week. It is still several days away, but odds favor rain, at least initially, along the I-95 corridor from DC to NYC and along coastal regions with snow in inland locations from upstate Pennsylvania to New England; however, the rain could change to snow around here during this potential mid-week big storm event. It'll turn colder behind that mid-week storm and then another cold air outbreak is likely to arrive here during the following weekend.
